Event Description

Discover the extraordinary story of In The Margins, inspired by the real-life Frances Wolfreston—a woman who defied the constraints of 1600s Puritan England by leaving her mark in the margins of literature. This captivating novel explores the challenges faced by intellectual women of the time and Frances' daring efforts to preserve some of the earliest known copies of Shakespeare’s works.
Scottish-born author Gail Holmes, an engineer and commercial manager, began writing in Shanghai while raising five children. She later earned a Master of Creative Writing in Australia. In The Margins is her debut novel.
