Yarra Ranges Council Waste Up! Workshop - Collage Edition (ages 12-15)

Event Description

xplore themes of sustainability, identity, and storytelling through the medium of waste collage. Learn how collage can be a powerful form of visual storytelling, with a focus on reusing everyday discarded materials to create layered, expressive artworks.

We’ll begin with a discussion about consumer culture, waste, and how artists use found materials to critique and reflect on society. Nicky will share examples from their own art practice and others that disrupt traditional forms through sustainable art-making. You'll then create a collage that tells a story - real or imagined - using materials otherwise considered waste.
This workshop is open to participants aged 12 to 15.
Parents or guardians are required to stay within the library for its full duration.
