Event Description

Have you thought about calling 000 before? Or what would happen if one adult was caring for a child and something happened to them? Would your child know what to do?

We know that this can be a super scary topic, but it is one that too many families are not tackling. Children calling for help is more common than you think.

At this super fun and playful session your child will be introduced to Harry Helper, and will learn about Emergency Services and how to dial 000 in case of an emergency. Harry Helper's foster parent Penny will lead the session using specifically designed games and activities which includes teaching children what they would need to tell emergency services in order to help out, and practicing how a conversation with an emergency phone operator will sound.

Harry Helper's program was developed by play-designers, educators, nurses, paramedics, doctors, social workers, mums and dads through a co-design model of shared knowledge and development. Each activity is designed to be inclusive and is trauma aware, preparing for and reducing any sort of harm to the child or triggering distressing experiences.
