Meet the author - Megan Rogers

Megan Rogers started her career as an editorial assistant at Allen and Unwin before moving into communications and eventually heading up the marketing at the State Library of Victoria. She has taught creative writing at an undergraduate and postgraduate level at universities for over ten years and has a PhD in creative writing, specifically in narratology. When her debut novel The Heart is a Star was sent to Australian publishers it caused a heated auction and was eventually signed with Catherine Milne at HarperCollins Australia. Then, when released in May 2023 it hit number four in Australian fiction and went on to become a bestseller. Megan has subsequently signed a two book deal with HarperCollins and her next book The Anatomy of Tears will be released in 2025. Film and TV production companies showed interest in optioning The Heart is a Star and it has now been signed with Aquarius Films, responsible for the Academy Award winning film Lion starring Nicole Kidman. Megan lives on the Mornington Peninsula with her husband and two young girls.
