'Words Aloud' Poetry And Spoken Word Session - Special Guest - Slam Poet - Emilie Zoey Baker

Event Description

Calling all wordsmiths, poets, spoken word artists, short story, letter, speech and song lyric writers!
Share your words, stories and art with others in the intimate, cosy setting of The Parlour at Miller's Homestead.
These sessions are a place for you to connect and be inspired by other wordsmiths and have a chance to perform your works to a respectful and inclusive audience.

This month's special guest is Emilie Zoey Baker, an award-winning Australian poet and spoken-word performer who has toured nationally and internationally performing and writing. She was a Fellow at the State Library of Victoria, and has previously been poet-in-residence for Museums Victoria and coordinator for the National Australian Poetry Slam. She teaches poetry and slam in primary and secondary schools and is the creative director of OutLoud Australian Poetry’s first youth slam.

She is also the host and co-producer of the monthly spoken word event Better Off Said with Marieke Hardy.

Each session will begin with a guest performer and will be followed by an open mic session.

Ages: 15 - 100.
Help yourself to tea and coffee during the session.

Notes & Requirements

Accessible parking can be arranged by calling 0438 284 989 prior to the event. Please park in designated bays on Dorrigo Drive or Melrose Court. If bays are full, please use available spaces on Dorrigo Drive, ensuring that you park away from intersections and residents' driveways. Miller's Homestead is in a quiet, residential area so we ask that you please be courteous to our lovely neighbours.
